The recent development, of the town's commercial districts, has increased Mount Kisco's revenue stream. The downside effect of the village's commercial viability has been its steady increase in car traffic since the mid-1990s.
Mount Kisco Metro-North Railroad Service - The New York and Harlem Railroad extended through Mt. Kisco in 1846. It eventually became part of the New York Central Railroad and then the Harlem Division of the present day MTA. The MTA provides frequent service to Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The Mt. Kisco station is at the business center of the town.
